NEHEMIAH

my readings this week are in nehemiah. i'm becoming stronger in the things of the bible and in the things of god. because of which, i'm gaining a better understanding of the people in the old and new testaments and the hope and inspiration that is recorded on their behalf.

when nehehmiah heard news of the broken walls of jerusalem, he was deeply saddened. he felt an urgency to walk to jerusalem and resurrect the walls. the walk to jerusalem is estimated to be 2000 miles.

(2000 miles from boise is roughly to the pennsylvania border. i don't think i'd walk that distance for anything.)

nehemiah cared so much for the state of jerusalem and the souls of others that it troubled his heart in not being there.

wow. the faith that moved these people to do great things.

2 Corinthians 2, 7-8:

...Contrariwise ye ought rather to forgive him, and comfort him, lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow.

Wherefore I beseech you that ye would confirm your love toward him.

Romans 15, 1

We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves.
